A BOOK CLUB for FOOD LOVERS
Since we are homebound for a little while longer, let’s explore the world and all its wildly delicious foods through cookbooks. Cookbooks offer us a look at the world we might otherwise not see, pandemic or not. It is also a good way to be in tune with the cultures and histories behind all the world’s cuisines, whether you are cooking the food yourself or enjoying it from your favorite restaurant.
Our Virtual Cookbook Club will focus on a new cookbook every month, and you can join all of them or just the topics that pique your interest. We’ll discuss what recipes inspired you and what new ingredients + cooking techniques you’ve discovered. We’ll spend the remainder of the class cooking a dish together from the book.
What to expect:
- Sign up for the months/cookbooks that interests you. Each monthly club meeting/cooking class is $45, and everyone in your household can participate.
- Purchase the book. We’ll share our favorite East + West Coast cookbook stores that we’d love you to support (or order from your own local shop!). We feel strongly about supporting small, independent bookstores.
- Spend a few weeks reading your new book, and putting post-it notes on the recipes that inspire you.
- Gather the ingredients needed to cook the selected recipe.
- Join us at the appointed time for the Cookbook Club meeting (via Zoom), with your book close by, and your ingredients ready to cook!
